Overview
PlayMetrics is transitioning all direct application access and registration links to our dedicated subdomain:
app.playmetrics.com
While the impact for your club members, parents, and staff who already use the PlayMetrics app should be minimal, any published links on your website, email templates, and marketing materials should be updated to use app.playmetrics.com.
| Note: The PlayMetrics application has been operating under, and redirecting users to, app.playmetrics.com since July of this year. Your membership and users should already be familiar with this domain change. |
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Why is PlayMetrics making this change?
Using a dedicated application URL (app.playmetrics.com) improves overall system security, reliability, and performance. Separating application traffic from general web traffic allows us to deliver a faster, more stable experience for your staff and members.
2. When do I need to make this change?
Support for the application at the legacy root domain (playmetrics.com) will officially end on December 31, 2026. We recommend updating your links as soon as possible to avoid broken links or access disruptions for your users. Anyone using the root domain url after this date will land on PlayMetrics corporate website, which will include a [Login] link.
3. What happens if someone clicks an old link before December 31, 2026?
Until December 31, 2026, old links will continue to function, automatically redirecting users to the correct page. However, once support ends on December 31, 2026, un-updated links may result in users landing on PlayMetrics corporate website, which will include a [Login] link.
4. How do I update existing links on my website?
Updating your links is quick and straightforward:
-
Option A (Manual Edit): Insert app. right before playmetrics.com in your existing URLs.
- Old URL: https://playmetrics.com/...
- New URL: https://app.playmetrics.com/...
- Option B (Copy Fresh Links): Log into your PlayMetrics administrative account, navigate to your active programs, and copy new registration links and paste into your website.
5. Where should I check for old links?
Be sure to review all digital and printed locations where your organization shares links:
- Website & Portals: Main navigation menus, registration buttons, callout banners, and footer links.
- Email Communication: Saved email templates, automated welcome messages, newsletter buttons, and staff email signatures.
- Social Media & Link Aggregators: Instagram Linktree / Bio links, pinned Facebook posts, and YouTube video descriptions.
- Printed & Promotional Materials: Any digital QR codes generated for flyers, banners, or yard signs. Note: If you used a dynamic QR code generator, update the destination target to app.playmetrics.com.
6. Will this log users out or affect their account information?
No. This change only updates the web address used to reach the login and registration pages. User accounts, login credentials, family profiles, payment histories, and registration records are completely unaffected.
7. Does this affect the PlayMetrics Mobile App?
No. If your members use the PlayMetrics mobile app on iOS or Android, no action is required. This update only applies to web browser links published across your website and digital channels.
8. Does this affect published league schedules or standings pages?
No. If you have published or shared league schedules and standings from the links provided within PlayMetrics, these pages use playmetricssports.com and not playmetrics.com.
